Christmas Time Stamp

Description

Aren't I the most traditional person around Christmas time.
:iconimhappyplz:

But seriously, I'm beginning to loathe Christmas time, because of this.
Don't get me wrong, Christmas is a great holiday, full of giving, joy, and getting together with family.
But I am just sick and tired of the time BEFORE said holiday.

When I go into malls, grocery stores, turn on the radio, or even just step outside, I am bombarded with the atmosphere that modern advertising has created for this holiday!
Come now.
I've listened to the songs "Santa Claus is coming to town", "Frosty the Snowman", "Rudolf the Rednosed Reindeer", "Jingle Bells", "Jingle Bell Rock", and that song about roasting chestnuts by the fire a bazillion times. And not to mention their copious amount of remixes.
I cringe at the sound of jingling bells.
I see the same fat old man on posters everywhere.
I never liked peppermint to begin with.
Red and green with a hint of white have become my least favorite colour combination.
And not to mention all the stores are like "BUY! BUY! BUY! Christmas is a time for giving! So BUY! BUY! BUY!"
This is driving me up the wall these days!
Come on!
Christmas is a time for giving! Not a time for giving me homicidal urges!
D:

And you know what?
This stupid stupid advertising gig starts right after Halloween!
That's WAY too long for me!

But seriously, I am not impressed.
Can't we just come up with new Christmas songs every year, instead of listening to those cheesy and sappy old ones?
Can't we use DRUMS to set an accompliment?
Isn't the holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus--not this fat old guy?
Can't we make Christmas candles with the scent of rice pudding?
Can we use another colour besides red or green at this time of year?
And, really, don't encourage greed---home make a gift for a change.

I think that what my sister just said is true.
They're trying to celebrate Christmas and trying take out everything related to Jesus.
Which is like trying to celebrate Chinese New Year and trying to take out everything Chinese.
Take a look at the word itself.
Christmas.

So, to everyone who favs this stamp, and those who don't.
I love Christmas.
But I hate the holiday fever.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
